I started training with Brant at the beginning of 2018 when I participated in our gym's new years nutrition challenge. One of my friends challenged me to do it with her so I figured, what could it hurt? I fell in love with the process! I don’t know if it was the competitive aspect of it, or if I just loved the results I was getting. Whatever it was, I was hooked.
The challenge looked a lot like the nutrition reset we have set up for businesses and groups. A group of people provide support by keeping each other accountable and motivated to reach their goals. One of the things I loved about it was the community feel it had. I was able to drop the weight because I had other people doing the same thing right alongside me. We pushed and encouraged each other to do our best and stick to it when it became difficult.
By the end of the challenge, I had dropped 15 pounds! I knew I wasn’t ready to stop and that I still had a lot of habits to solidify as well as build some new ones. So I asked Brant to work with me using 1 on 1 personal nutrition coaching. Not only did I lose another 15 pounds, I gained energy, confidence, strength in the gym, and lifelong skills and habits that I continually fall back on.
I trained with him for about 9 months and after being coached and held accountable to someone for that long, I felt confident enough to continue on my own. One of the biggest things I’ve learned since then is that life is never linear. It changes. Your schedule changes, you meet new people, go on vacations...life just happens. Through every change that’s happened over the last 2 years, whether I stuck to a healthy diet or fell away from it a bit, I've always come back to the nutrition habits I learned. I know I have the knowledge I need to eat well and stay healthy. I’ve watched myself reach my goals even when they felt impossible, that’s real confidence.
We often stand in our own way of reaching our goals, we are our OWN biggest obstacle. I know now that I have the ability to overcome that obstacle because I’ve watched myself do it in the past. That knowledge, along with the habits I’ve built are all I need to lead a healthy lifestyle and come back to it when I get distracted by life.
